I was a guest on the DJV podcast Klartext and talk in the new episode about why we need a different approach to AI in journalism. The editorial team has created a very clear format that addresses media issues without beating around the bush. This episode explores how AI is changing editorial workflows, what new opportunities are emerging, and why the role of journalists is becoming even more important as a result.
Right at the beginning, I was thrown off balance when the editorial dog Juki overwhelmed me with a full-on charm offensive. I was caught giggling a bit because he was tickling my leg and seemed convinced that I was actually supposed to explain something about AI just to him.
For me, the visit to Hessischer Rundfunk was once again a very special moment. Thirty years ago, I started there as an intern in the “Electronic Graphics” department. Back then, computer graphics were brand new and every day felt like the future you could touch. Now I was back in the building for the second time this year. It is a wonderful feeling to see the circle close and to realize how rapidly our industry has changed.
