I am delighted to be quoted in the latest article by ZDF heute on AI-powered chatbots in China. The development of DeepSeek, a Chinese AI model, shows how generative AI is regulated and shaped in authoritarian systems. But not only there. We urgently need to understand that AI is not just based on trained data—it reflects worldviews. This means that artificial intelligence does not provide neutral information, but is influenced by ideological and cultural biases. That is why media literacy is more important than ever – to understand how AI generates answers and what mechanisms are behind them.
